The chase for the Pepsi Max National Hire Kart Challenge is heating up, with Enduro squads enjoying a final hit out prior to the feature race day on the Slideways calendar, as the seventh round of the season provided a return to the top step of the podium for TSR.

After cleaning up in the opening three events of the season, TSR made the trip to France to represent Slideways Go Karting World Pimpama at the Sodi World Series Finals.

Since then, Global Action Photography proved to be the team to beat, claiming three consecutive race victories, commencing with the May double enduro.

Starting from second position at the all-new massed grid start, the three-driver race was anchored by Michael Seeto, who instantly jumped out to a solid lead.

With Jack Hughes taking on the second stint, and new team recruit Dean Ferguson bringing the outfit home, the final margin of victory was a remarkable 25 seconds.

In second position on the day was Global Action Photography, who started the race from position four with Jake Albertson, who handed over to Pete Brown, and in turn Camron Robertson.

Rounding out the podium was CTS Motorsport, with Matt Hudson, Clay Seaborne and Tim Hatton putting in a solid drive to claim their sixth top-three finish from seven races contested to date.

Just shy of the podium in fourth were the Slideways Young Guns, who have continued to show their development in recent events.

Starting from third position, Liam Hydes led the team away and ran strongly with the leaders, before handing over to Euan Shields and Jacques Goodman.

Many of the younger competitors at Slideways Race Days hone their craft at the Slideways Karting Academy, which now has an all-new structure, and is open to drivers of all age groups, from seven to 77.

The new structure focuses on speed, as well as race craft, with the entire program tiered to show your progress, as your lap times and ability improve.

Fifth position was a solid result for 1788 Kangaroos squad featuring Ryan Jones, Ryan Mount and Christian Bishop, with the team working their way through the pack from ninth place on the starting grid.

The Old Dogs have continued to show improvement, and looked smart in their new team kit, with the team of Braden Ohehir, Glenn Smith and Justin Vanstone coming home in sixth, two places better than they started.

Seventh position went to the Rampant Lions crew of James Shields, Fraser Ward and Stef Russell, with one of the highlights of the race being the father/daughter battle between James and Erin Shields in the opening stanza.

The pair swapped positions back and forth, before Shields Junior forged ahead prior to the driver change.

Multi 21 started seventh and came home in eighth, with driving duties split between Les Roche, Aaron Gilbert and Martin Kidd.

Starting from grid six and finishing in ninth was a commendable result for Les Femmes Fatale, with the squad of Erin Shields, Juliette Russell, and first time Enduro racer Chloe Herbison showing strong pace throughout the event.

Four first time outfits rounded out the results sheet, with 2TSR (Jeremy Boyd/Brayden Maroske/Daniel Reeves) tenth from Boral Boys (Roy Wakefield, Darren Pomarce, Pete Mason), then Yatala Girls (Kelly Miller, Kellie Munro, Michael Munro), and Team Espray, of Richard Espray, Jane Matthews, and young Hyundai Excel racer Holly Espray.

In terms of lap times, TSR paced the field with a benchmark time of 42.706sec, with seven of the next eight teams all recording laps within the 43 second bracket.

All eyes are now on the eighth round of the Slideways Enduro Series for 2017, the three hour/250 lap Pepsi Max National Hire Kart Challenge – the Queensland Crown.

Entries are now open for the event, with awesome prizes on the line for the winning team, namely:
