Capping off an awesome opening season of racing at Slideways Go Karting World at Pimpama on the Gold Coast, the inaugural Slideways Christmas Cup on December 11 will give racers one final chance to hit the track for an awesome cause.
Getting into the spirit of the season, 25% of all entry fees collected for the event will be donated to the Salvation Army’s Christmas Appeal.
The race day will run to the same format that has proven popular throughout the Slideways Enduro Series, with each driver from the teams of three receiving a 10 minute long qualifying session, while the 65 minute race will be broken up by a pair of compulsory pit stops for driver changes.
As always, the race will count for points towards the Sodi World Series Endurance Cup, which places drivers from kart centres around the world up against each other.
The aim of the day is to provide a safe but fair competition, meaning that there will be no sheep stations on the line! New competitors are always welcome to join the fun, and will be walked through our tried and tested race day format.
In an effort to promote even competition, all karts are continually benchmark tested, meaning drivers have access to even equipment.
This has been very noticeable in recent race events, with the entire field split by ever narrowing margins.
The Slideways Go Karting World track is also set to be in top form, with the 700m long outdoor track recently undergoing extensive works.
The undulating layout is a true test of driver skill, with the variety of corners putting ability to the test.
Entries for the event are strictly capped, with prospective participants encouraged to contact the Slideways Go Karting World office on (07) 5546 6566 to reserve their place on the starting grid.
