Racing at the Slideways Go Karting World Monster Jam® Race Day not only puts you in with a random draw chance of winning VIP seats to the big event, but also the chance to see the first ever running of the action-packed fun for Race Of Champions ROC Factor in Australia.
The Monster Jam® Race Day is scheduled for October 1, running to the venue’s standard Sprint Race format, for Cadets (aged 7-11), Juniors (aged 12-15), plus Senior Lights and Heavies (under/over 80kg).
Brisbane is the first stop for the Monster Jam® 2017 tour on October 7, where fans will experience an Australian showdown between some of motor sports biggest names, including motorcycle legend Mick Doohan, going head to head with motorbike stunt rider and daredevil extraordinaire Robbie Maddison!
“I’m excited to be a part of the Monster Jam Aussie Tour, I can’t wait for fans to see what Race Of Champions is all about. Racing is in my blood and I’ll be bringing my “if you’re not first you’re last” attitude to entertain the fans and hopefully stand on top of the podium,” Maddison said.
The Australian premiere of Race Of Champions in Brisbane at Monster Jam® will see world class drivers go head-to-head in a unique competition to see who really is the fastest of them all. All Race of Champions drivers will be racing in the official ROC Car known for its rapid acceleration and predictable handling regardless of track conditions, proving to be particularly useful at twisty layouts.
Further drivers will be announced in the lead up to the big event.
“Monster Jam is the biggest touring family stadium show on the planet,” said Magnus Danielsson, Vice President of Feld International Motorsports. “Each year our fans expect bigger and more exciting family motorsports action which is why adding Race Of Champions and ROC Factor makes so much sense for Monster Jam. Just like our fans, we’ll be excited to see how the ROC Factor competition ends; may the best driver win!”
Race Of Champions will feature ROC Factor – a competition that gives amateur drivers the chance to compete and compare their talent with some of the biggest names in motorsport in an elimination-style tournament.
“The ROC Factor competition is an idea that we started at the Race Of Champions at London’s Olympic Stadium in 2015,” said Fredrik Johnsson, President of Race Of Champions.
“It was a great success and now we look forward to giving racing enthusiasts in Australia the chance to measure their skills against some of the country’s biggest stars. Monster Jam is the perfect partner to launch with in Australia.”
Motorsport enthusiasts and racers can enter the ROC Factor competition online, with an expert panel evaluating contestants before naming semi-finalists. Details of how to enter are to be announced soon. Monster Jam fans will be asked to vote and name the two finalists online in the coming months.
Monster Jam returns to Australia with Race Of Champions the first time addition, for four shows across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in October. Each Monster Jam show features two competitions: head-to-head racing where speed matters and the unmissable freestyle competitions, where fans will see the massive Monster Jam trucks defy gravity with their best tricks.
