Be one of the first to try out our new-look track layout at this Sunday’s Sprint Race grand finale at Slideways Go Karting World, Pimpama.

Two major changes have occurred at:

  • The chicane onto the pit straight has been eliminated, making overtaking into turn one much easier

It’s not too late to enter for this weekend, with the playing field well and truly levelled by the new layout.

As always, there will be classes for:
Cadets aged 7 & up, Juniors 12-15
Senior Lights & Heavies – under/over 80kg

Phone the Slideways Go Karting World office between 9am-5pm 7 days on (07) 5546 6566, or book online via our dedicated Gold Coast Go Kart race days web page.

The day will feature:

  • Free sausage sizzle for you and your family

Point Score Update

In calculating the end of season point scores using the Sodi World Series system, only the best eight cadet/junior races count, while the best ten senior races count for the heavies/lights.

Cadets

The Cadets have been one of the most competitive fields to date in season 2017, with the title set to go right down to the wire.

Heading into the final round, Olivia Herbison leads the way with five race wins to her credit, with Hamish Shields in second (two wins), followed by Hayden Quayle, who with five wins a big chance of climbing up the ladder with a strong result dropping his current two worst results.

Riley Hill is next from Christian and Angus Jardine, then Ryan Tame, while Lochie Crowther is making a late charge, and could be one to feature in the final standings.

Thinking of entering? Be quick, there is only ONE place left on the grid.

Juniors

Precious little split Liam Hydes (eight wins) and Jacques Goodman (six wins) at the top of the Junior standings.

Euan Shields is currently third from Lewis Spencer, Juliette Russell, Chloe Herbison and Liam Wyatt.

Senior Lights

Another strong showing by Michael Seeto should wrap up the Senior Lights title, after claiming seven victories to date in 2017.

Clay Seaborne is second in the standings on six wins, then Alex Heaton, Matt Hudson, Dean Ferguson, Kyle Toirkens, Ryan Jones, Tim Hatton, Daniel Bell and Camron Robertson.

Senior Heavies

Eight race wins have Pete Brown sitting in a strong position in the Senior Heavies, although the pack has definitely closed in during recent rounds.

Joel Dimmack is second, from Christian Bishop, Dean Ferguson has made a late season charge, then James Shields, Ben Talbot, Stefan Russell, Josh Williams, Fraser Ward, Leighton Cook and Clayton Hydes.
