For the first time ever, the Slideways Sprint Racing Series combined with the Slideways Ladies Race Series, to create one bumper field of competitors.
Contested over a pair of 15-minute-long sprint races on the reverse track direction, the finale race was a non-starter after rain swept the Slideways Go Karting World facility just after the chequered flag for the second heat.
Evening out the field, the Sodi weight box system was utilised, ensuring nobody had an unfair advantage.
With a random draw determining the starting order for the first race, the grid was inverted for the second, so an emphasis was placed on overtaking to score maximum points.
For the opening race it was very much business as usual, with Jackson Faulkner claiming victory with a fastest race lap of 40.321sec.
Showing that the girls are very much capable of mixing it with the boys, Amanda Rohde and Chloe Buck completed the podium, ahead of the fast finishing Gavin Faulkner and Michael Seeto.
Liam Hydes was sixth, leading home his father Clayton Hydes, then Olivia Herbison, Jacques Goodman and Jayme Hemi rounding out the top-ten.
Next was the returning Keenan Faulkner, from Phil Edwards, Chris Herringe, Bianca Williams, Shania Lau, Christian Bishop, Timothy Read and Christine Hart.
Keenan Faulkner won the second race in a classic finish, leading home Herbison by only 0.178sec, with Goodman and Seeto finishing within a second of the race victor.
Liam Hydes was fifth, from Edwards, Jackson Faulkner (40.251sec fastest lap), then Bishop, Gavin Faulkner, Clayton Hydes, Buck, Herringe, Williams, Rohde, Hemi, Lau, Read and Hart.
On the overall podium for the night, Jackson Faulkner won his eighth event of the season from Seeto and Herbision, while Herbison topped the Ladies podium from Buck and Rohde.
The Best and Fairest driver awards for the two classes went to Hemi and Lau, while Encouragement Awards went to Read and Hart.
