GJK Racing once again proved to be the class of the Slideways Enduro Series competition at Slideways Go Karting World Pimpama, dominating the eighth round for 2018.
With the race running to a 75-minute format on the regular track direction, the Faulkner family ran away from the pack, with Keenan leading the opening leg, followed by the ever-swift Jackson in the middle, with Gavin as solid as ever in bringing the kart home.
The team were the only kart to break the 40sec lap time barrier in the race, with a best of 39.815sec.
Second on the evening were Global Action Photography, who managed to sneak back onto the lead lap late in the running, while rounding out the podium were the 1788 Kangaroos, after a kart swap at the opening driver change.
Fourth overall were Streamline Karting, then Ark Em, TSR, and newcomers Team Vic.
In the special awards for the evening, Dean Ferguson was named Best and Fairest, while first time racer Corey Drummond from Team Vic was given the Encouragement Award.
Earlier in the evening, the three five-minute-long qualifying sessions were topped by John Mostyn (40.144sec), Keenan Faulkner (40.175sec) and Ferguson (40.338sec).
Up next on the Slideways race days calendar is this Sunday’s Junior and Cadet Sprint Race meeting on the normal track direction, while the Slideways Sprint Racing Series and the Slideways Ladies Race Series return on the normal track direction on Wednesday November 7th.
The Slideways Enduro Series meanwhile continues on Wednesday November 14th, with another 75-minute race on the reverse track direction.
