Slideways Go Karting World at Pimpama on the Gold Coast will play host to an expanded racing program in 2017, with a 10 round Enduro Race Series in addition to a six round Sprint Race Series.

The emphasis of all of the race days is on fun and fair social racing, professionally run with even machinery.

The Enduro Races will run to the same format which proved popular throughout the five events contested in 2016, with each drivers from the three driver teams having a 10 minute qualifying session each, before a 90 lap race (approximately 65 minutes) race with a pair of compulsory driver changes.

A new addition for this season will be a pair of double length races, which will put drivers to the ultimate test on Slideways Go Karting World’s 700m long circuit.

These will be held at round four in May, and round eight in September.

After making a successful debut with the Monster Jam® Race Day in September 2016, Sprint Racing will for the first time have a full schedule of events.

Contested by single drivers, the days will feature 10 minutes of practice, 10 minutes of qualifying, and a 10 minute sprint race.

The Sprint Rounds will be held in conjunction with the new Slideways Junior Academy Race Series, which is looking to develop young racers, and give them their first break into motorsport.

Further details on this exciting new development will be announced in the coming weeks, as well as mid-week classes, which aim to teach youngsters the finer points of improving their racing skills from a technical standpoint.

All rounds of the Endurance, Sprint and Junior Series will count towards the Sodi World Series, the world’s leading ranking for hire kart venues which use the European made Sodi Kart chassis.

Over 40,000 competitors are registered from 47 countries, with Slideways registered team TSR Australia finishing in the top-ten in the world in endurance racing for 2016 from the 8,750 teams globally.

They are now eligible to race in the Sodi World Series finials in France this year.

For the various Slideways race series, the points awarded by Sodi will be used as the basis of our own point scores.

In a new initiative for 2017, online registration will be available for teams, with incentives available for early entry. Full details will be released prior to the first event of the year.
