For the first time this season, Global Action Photography broke through for victory, the second for the team in the history of long distance racing at the venue.
Qualifying for the day saw varied wet conditions, which scrambled the starting order for the main race.
Starting from pole position was CTS Motorsports, ahead of 1788 Kangaroos, newcomers DJM Racing, Old Dogs, CTS Heavies, Multi 21, Global Action Photography and BPRO.
The race started and finished in wet conditions, with the late downpour causing consternation for the leaders, with more than one dicey moment.
A total of 164 laps were completed in the time certain race, with Global Action Photography’s final margin of victory 21sec over CTS Motorsport, who were in the hunt throughout.
CTS Heavies rounded out a solid podium for the team, with 1788 Kangaroos fourth home, ahead of DJM Racing, Multi 21, Old Dogs and BPRO.
After the fourth event of the year, CTS Motorsports now top the points standings from Global Action Photography, TSR Australia, 1788 Kangaroos, Multi-21, CTS Motorsports Heavies, with Old Dogs in seventh.
Previous series leaders TSR Australia sat out the event to concentrate on their upcoming trip to France to represent Slideways at the Sodi World Series Finals.
Joining them on the grid will be the 1788 Kangaroos and Profile Autosports, who raced at Slideways in 2016, earning points towards their trip to Europe.
Also making the trip to France to compete in the Sprint Cup will be Clay Seaborne, who was one third of the second place CTS Motorsport crew.
Slideways wishes all of the Australian representatives at the Sodi World Finals the very best of luck!
The next event on the Slideways Enduro Series calendar is scheduled for June 11, with the format reverting to the traditional 90 lap/65 minute distance.
Discounted early bird entry and full details are available on our Slideways Enduro Series webpage.
